Enabling Language Resources to Expose Translations as Linked Data on the Web
نویسندگان
چکیده
Language resources, such as multilingual lexica and multilingual electronic dictionaries, contain collections of lexical entries in several languages. Having access to the corresponding explicit or implicit translation relations between such entries might be of great interest for many NLP-based applications. By using Semantic Web-based techniques, translations can be available on the Web to be consumed by other (semantic enabled) resources in a direct manner, not relying on application-specific formats. To that end, in this paper we propose a model for representing translations as linked data, as an extension of the lemon model. Our translation module represents some core information associated to term translations and does not commit to specific views or translation theories. As a proof of concept, we have extracted the translations of the terms contained in Terminesp, a multilingual terminological database, and represented them as linked data. We have made them accessible on the Web both for humans (via a Web interface) and software agents (with a SPARQL endpoint).

LiveTrans-Cross-Language Web Search through Live Mining of Query Translations
Enabling users to find effective translations automatically for query terms not included in dictionary is one of the major goals of a practical cross-language Web search service. This paper presents a cross-language Web search system called LiveTrans, which is an experimental metasearch engine that provides English-Chinese cross-lingual retrieval of both Web pages and images. The system has bee...
متن کاملImproving Machine Translation through Linked Data
With the ever increasing availability of linked multilingual lexical resources, there is a renewed interest in extending Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications so that they can make use of the vast set of lexical knowledge bases available in the Semantic Web. In the case of Machine Translation, MT systems can potentially benefit from such a resource. Unknown words and ambiguous translat...
متن کاملAutomapper: Relational Database Semantic Translation using OWL and SWRL
General purpose query interfaces to relational databases can expose vast amounts of content to the Semantic Web. In this paper, we discuss Automapper, a tool that automatically generates data source and mapping ontologies using OWL and SWRL. We also describe the use of these ontologies in our Semantic Distributed Query architecture, an implementation for mapping RDF queries to disparate data so...
متن کاملA Linked Data-driven & Service-oriented Architecture for Sharing Educational Resources
The two fundamental aims of managing educational resources are to enable resources to be reusable and interoperable and to enable Web-scale sharing of resources across learning communities. Currently, a variety of approaches have been proposed to expose and manage educational resources and their metadata on the Web. These are usually based on heterogeneous metadata standards and schemas, such a...
متن کاملMining translations from the web of open linked data
In this paper we consider the prospect of extracting translations for words from the web of linked data. By searching for entities that have labels in both English and German we extract 665,000 translations. We then also consider a linguistic linked data resource, lemonUby, from which we extract a further 115,000 translations. We combine these translations with the Moses statistical machine tra...
